2026 Abacus dx Emerging Investigators Grant

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 2026 Abacus dx Emerging Investigators Grant, a $50,000 AUD initiative supporting early-career researchers and PhD students across Australia.*

This grant funds reagents for projects in:

Protein Quantification | Spatial-Histology Biology | Molecular Sequencing | Other areas of Life Science research

The grant application will be assessed by a panel of at least three independent reviewers using a standardised scoring system. Applicants will be informed of the decision on the 31st of March 2026, and the grant will be valid until the 30th of August 2026. 

What you need to do before you submit an application:

  1. Read through the grant guidelines document before beginning your application. Follow the prompts and the steps in the document.
  2. Please contact your local business development specialist who will need to assist you when completing the budget template spreadsheet. You can find your local representative’s contact details further down the page.
  3. Please email the completed budget template spreadsheet to your local representative after you have finished your application.

* The following terms and conditions apply: 

  • Funding may only be spent with Abacus dx, on the products (excluding instruments) outlined in Grant Application. 
  • Preference will be given to projects that align with the Abacus dx Life Science portfolio offering.
  • Preference will be given to early-career researchers and PhD students.
  • Abacus dx will be acknowledged in all resulting publications and presentations.
  • 3 month progress reports must be submitted to the Abacus dx.
  • There may be multiple grants awarded for varying value.
  • The successful applicant may be asked to present their work at Abacus dx events.
  • The research funds are to be used for the project, as per the budget application only. Abacus dx does not support an institution’s infrastructure or overhead costs. 
  • The application will be sent via email after completing the request form at the end of this page.
