Interferons (IFNs) are the first line of defence against viral infections and have important roles in immunosurveillance for malignant cells. IFNs are classified as type I ( IFNε, IFNα2, IFNβ, IFNω), II (IFNɣ), and III (IFNλ1, λ2, λ3), based on the target receptors to which they bind.
De-regulation may contribute to many diseases such as infectious disease, autoimmune and chronic inflammatory disease, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, neurological disorders, and cancer.
The MILLIPLEX® Human Interferon Magnetic Bead Panel, HIFN-130K is a 9-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of any or all of the following analytes in serum or plasma samples and tissue/cell lysate and culture supernatant samples:
IFNα-2, IFNβ, IFNε, IFNɣ, IFNɣ Receptor 1 (IFNGR1), IFNλ1, IFNλ2, IFNλ3, IFNω.

Specificity
There was no or negligible cross-reactivity between the antibodies for an analyte and any of the other analytes in this panel.
