Join our fantastic team of 19 high-performing service engineers in an autonomous field role. As a Service Engineer, you will work closely with other departments such as Operations and Commercial. You will be part of a wonderful team who are dedicated to superior customer solutions and support. You will enjoy a variety of activities and responsibilities, including customer service calls, scheduled preventative maintenance visits, installations, and product education and training. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner, escalating issues to the Service Team Leader in accordance with internal processes.
- Complete all documentation accurately and promptly, including service reports, installation documents, training modules, and expense reports.
- Manage spare parts efficiently and accurately, including boot stock and third-party logistics.
- Manage assigned monthly preventative maintenance tasks and correct completion of all paperwork and checklists.
- Install new equipment at customer sites and trade shows.
- Travel locally and internationally for training as required.
- Ad hoc support for interstate teams as per business needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and key customers within the assigned territory.
- Contribute to the organisational culture and continuous improvement initiatives at Abacus dx.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary education in Engineering (Electronics, Biomedical, Mechatronics).
- Broad technical experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and computer-driven systems.
- Excellent computer skills including a sound understanding of networking.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to interpret, present, and communicate technical information.
- Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and learn quickly.
- Effective time management and task prioritisation skills.
- Self-motivated and committed to achieving excellence.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Experience in Hematology, Flow Cytometry or Chemistry within a pathology environment.
- Familiarity with the territory and existing customer relationships.
- Scientific understanding of assays and pathology related terminology.
- Experience with instrument IT interfacing and LIS connectivity.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role within an ISO-compliant organisation.
- Restricted electrical license certification or the ability to obtain one.
MUST HAVES
- Drivers license.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
